Half life data
The most importantacteristic of a crosslinking peroxide is its decomposition rate expressed
by its half life (t?) at various temperatures. FDTBP in a EPDM compound:
t? = 0.1 hr 1 hr 10 hr at 176°C 154°C 120°C
Storage
Due to the relatively unstable nature ofganic peroxides, a loss of quality will occur over a period of time. To minimize the loss of quality, we recommend a maximum storage temperature (Ts max.) eachganic peroxide. A minimum storage temperature (Ts min.) is given if an
undesirable physical process (e.g. solidification phase separation) is known to occur below the
temperature indicated.
Ts max. = 40°C Ts min. = -30°C
When stored according to these recommended storage conditions, DTBP will remain within the specifications fa period of at least six months after delivery.
Thermalstabilityganic peroxides are thermally unstable substances which may undergo self-accelerating decomposition. The lowest temperature at which selfaccelerating decomposition may occur with a substance in the packaging as used ftransport is the Self-Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT). The SADT is determined on the basis of the Heat
Accumulation Storage Test.
FDTBP SADT : 80°C
Emergency temperature (Tem) : 75°C
No control temperature (Tc) required
Hazardous reactions
Oxidizing agent. Decomposes violently under the influence of heat by contact with reducing agents.
Never mix with accelerators.
Majdecomposition products

Packaging transport
The standard packaging is a HDPE can f20 kg peroxide formulation. Both packaging transport meet the international regulations.
DTBP is classified asganic peroxide type E; liquid, Division 5.2; UN 3107; PG II.
Safety handling
Keep away from open fire, sparks other sources of heat ignition. Avoid contact with reducing agents (e.g. amines), acids, alkalis heavy metal compounds (e.g. accelerators, driers metal soaps). Please refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) ffurther information on the safe storage, use handling of DTBP. This information should be thoroughly reviewed prito
acceptance of this product.
Packaging
Standard packaging size fDTBP is 25 kg net.
